Assist in ensuring day to day that the department is compliant with company operations, policies, and procedures. Work with the operations managers and DC managers to maintain payroll figures, budgeting, productivity, etc. within his/her departments. Provide training, guidance, and counseling as needed to each distribution center team member within his/her department. Responsible for performing scheduled evaluations on each of his/her team members. Provide leadership throughout the department and work to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level. Work with manager to establish annual goals and the plan to follow for accomplishing these goals. Work closely with human resources supervisor and the operations manager to ensure effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices. Assist the operations manager and DC manager with planning to prepare annual capital expenditure listing for budgeting purposes. Work with operations manager and DC manager for approval on any expenditure for department. Operate in a safe manner for the benefit of self and other and maintain a watchful eye for unsafe practices and situations. Assistant supervisor is responsible for all essential job functions in the absence of the supervisor. Other duties as assigned by the outbound operations manager or DC manager.
