Kramer Scrimshaw book chain silver bracelet. The design depicts a seashore or nautical motif- a ship with billowing sails, a stately lighthouse and birds in flight. The Scrimshaw is placed in an oval shaped frame with delicate rope trim- this portion of the bracelet appears to be handcrafted. The chain is beautiful, great detail was put into the design, complete with book chain links.
The chain is not marked Sterling, I have tested this by two methods and it does test to be Sterling, but could possibly be silver plated. The closure is signed KRAMER ©
Scrimshaw is the name given to the art of intricate carving on ivory, whalebone, whale ivory and walrus tusk. This is a Fabulous bracelet in Excellent condition- no visible wear to the metal, the Scrimshaw is beautiful as well. A Very Rare Kramer piece- perfect for gift giving or keep for yourself!
